Healthy Community Initiative
Free health checks and preventive care in communities, so hypertension, diabetes, cancer and other NCDs are caught early.
02The Story
people screened at free outreaches
Many people live with high blood pressure or diabetes for years without knowing, until a stroke or kidney failure tells them. Our outreaches bring checks into communities, maternity hospitals and primary health centres, at no cost, with counselling, medicines and referrals on the same day.
Early detection is the cheapest care there is. A blood pressure check today can prevent a stroke that would cost a family everything.
- Blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, urinalysis and eye checks, with HIV and malaria tests when partners can provide them.
- Doctors on site counsel anyone with a worrying result and refer them on.
- Health talks on hypertension, breast cancer and healthy living run alongside.
