Voluntary blood drives that keep the UCH Blood Bank stocked for the patients who need it most.
02The Story
pints donated across five drives
Patients with sickle cell disease, cancer and heart conditions often need blood at short notice, and the bank runs low. Donate-A-Pint brings students, doctors and neighbours to Alexander Brown Hall to give, with our volunteers handling the welcome, the screening queue and the snacks afterwards.
A single pint can help up to three patients, and every pint we collect goes straight to the UCH Blood Bank for the patients who need it.
- We partner with the UCH Blood Bank and the National Blood Service Commission, who run the clinical side.
- Volunteers register donors, run health checks and keep the day moving.
- Medical students’ associations and campus clubs bring their members along.
